The authors through the paper aims to look at the different perspectives on areas of art education such as visual literacy, visual culture art education, its components, the confluence of disciplines and other forms of literacies and also the pedagogical implications.Questions such as how has art education changed in the past decade or so and how has globalization affected our views in this area of education will also be discussed.
